Critical Job Skills, the Future is Now

The World Economic Forum is a not-for-profit based in Geneva. The WEF is an independent organization committed to improving the state of the world by engaging the foremost political, business and other leaders of society to shape global, regional and industry agendas.

In a future facing jobs study, The 10 Skills You Need to Thrive in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the WEF surveyed senior executives to determine the critical job skills they will seek in the future workforce. Ranking at #6 on the list of skills required in the workplace of the Year 2020 is Emotional Intelligence. “Emotional intelligence, which doesn’t feature in the top 10 today, will become one of the top skills needed by all.” The Future of Jobs Report asked chief human resources and strategy officers from leading global employers what the current shifts mean, specifically for employment, skills and recruitment across industries and geographies.
